A WOMAN will be setting dignity aside by dressing up as a sumo wrestler and running around the streets for charity.

Gemma Johnson, a mother of two and business woman, of Swan Bottom, The Lee, will complete the run in an inflatable sumo suit around the village on Saturday, July 30.

A VILLAGE has had their much needed cash for a playground axed following the recent budget cuts, which may have been prevented if they had used a private contractor instead of people in the community.

A TEENAGER charged with burglary and assault has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Ashley Pither, 18, of Broombarn Lane, Great Missenden, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, July 16, for burglary and assault at Tom Scott Hose, in Pearce Road, Chesham, on March 12 of this year.

NEW opening hours could soon be introduced at a cemetery in a bid to save thousands of pounds a year paying staff to lock the gates - despite nearby residents opposing the idea.

Plans for Chesham Cemetery, in Bellingdon Road, to be open 24 hours a day was favoured by councillors at a recent council meeting despite residents on nearby Sunnyside Road, who back on to the site, being unhappy with the proposal because they believe it will lead to an increase in crime and antisocial behaviour.
