AN INSPIRATIONAL meeting a blind lady will see a Chesham man line-up with thousands of other runners at the Brighton Marathon.
Keith Saunders, 52, of Chartridge Lane, will take on the 26-mile course on April 15 to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
It was while searching the charities website that the father-of-two came across the woman who would spur him on to take on the gruelling challenge..

A POLICEMAN is planning to ditch his squad car and jump on his bicycle for his autistic son to try help raise vital funds for research into the condition.
Simon Aston, 44, of Woodley Hill, Chesham, will be taking on a 300-mile cycle challenge which will take in Amsterdam and Brussels in June.
The father-of-two, who works for City of London police, will spend four days on his bike in the hope to raise thousands for the National Autistic Society (NAS).

STAFF at The Chiltern Hospital helped raise funds for British Heart Foundation and awareness of a disease which kills nearly 200,000 people in the UK each year.
People going into the hospital, in Great Missenden, on February 26 were greeted by a sea of red as workers donned red clothes and decorated the hospital in red to raise £200.

CHERYL Gillan MP has vowed to continue championing the rights of people with autism in the UK after her ground-breaking legislation took another step forward.

A HOSPICE which cares for people with terminal illnesses from across the Chilterns is calling on people to take up a fundraising challenge and help them raise vital funds.
Hospice of St Francis, in Berkhampstead, cares for people from Chesham, Amersham, Little Chalfont, Great Missenden all the way to Hertfordshire and will be holding their fourth annual Walk with the Stars event on June 19.
Hundreds of women are expected to take part once again in the midnight walk over a five mile or 11 mile course.

A CAMPAIGN aiming to raise funds and awareness to eradicate polio will get underway next week when empty shop windows will be filled with emotive displays about the disease.
The Rotary Clubs of Amersham, Chesham and Great Missenden have teamed up for the association's first national drive of its kind the 'Thanks For Life - Rotary Day' to celebrate its 105th birthday on Tuesday (23/2) while trying to stamp out polio from the world. The campaign aims to raise reach £1 million target with the help of its members across Great Britain and Ireland.

Makeovers for charity

EYEBROWS across Chilterns are set for a charitable makeover in an effort to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.
The Lemon Rooms beauty salon, in The Broadway, Chesham, are opening their doors on February 18, to put on a mass eyebrow threading session to residents.
Treatments will be free of charge but with each visitor encouraged to make a discretionary donation to the cancer charity.

IAIN Rennie Hospice at Home have unveiled the date for their biggest fundraising event of the year and hope to eclipse the £100,000 it raised in 2009.
The Goodnight Walk will be held in Amersham on Saturday, June 19 with anyone hoping to dress up in Mardis Gras theme and take part in the 11-mile route around the town setting off at midnight.

AGE Concern Bucks have appointed their new chief executive who is relishing the challenge of leading the vital charity.
Mike Brooks has been Befriending Services Manager at the charity for the past five years and has helped develop the scheme into one of the largest in the country with nearly 300 older people visited by volunteers each week.
