THE MISBOURNE SCHOOL is celebrating another record year of GCSE results with 71 per cent of its students attaining five or more A*-Cs.

Students at the school in Misbourne Drive received their results today (Tuesday) with many students ecstatic with their achievements.

Happy Olivia Abbott, 16, of Prestwood, achieved 12.5 A*-C grades, she said: "I'm really pleased with my results and I'm so happy I passed maths!" Olivia will be staying on to study French, ICT, English language and sociology before venturing to university.

Student Jessie Small will also be returning to sixth form after gaining three A*s, six A's and three B's, she said: "I'm delighted with my results and I'm looking forward to coming back into sixth form here."

The star student who achieved eight A*s, three As and one C is currently out of the country travelling so she couldn't receive her results this morning.

The school saw 54 per cent achieve five or more A*-C grades including English and maths.

Head of year 11, Elizabeth Lamb, said: "We're very proud of our students who have worked hard with us to achieve a good set of results."

Headteacher John Robinson said: "Not only would I like to congratulate all our students on their great achievements but also our fantastic staff and students' parents for their hard work and efforts."

We'd like to hear from you.
