Bishop opens new Waterside building
A NEW facility at Waterside School aimed at helping raise their pupil's self-confidence was officially opened by the Bishop of Buckingham.
Reverend Alan Wilson cut the ribbon on the new Cygnet area at the school, in Blackhorse Avenue, Chesham, on Friday (29/1).
Described by the school as a 'nurture facility', the group aims to develop children's confidence and self-esteem along with addressing their social, emotional and educational needs.
Run during school-time, it is initially being offered to children in the school's Year One class and five children are already taking part in twice weekly sessions.
Gareth Drawmer, headteacher, said: "At Waterside School, we have always placed a great deal of importance on the nurturing and education of the whole child and the introduction of the Cygnets group is an important new development for our younger children."
