Man jailed for GBH on baby
A MAN who threw a young baby out of a window in Chesham has been jailed indefinitely.
Paul Gilder, 40, of Bury Lane, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault and was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday (15/12).
He was arrested on June 9, 2008 after he dropped the baby, who cannot be named for legal reasons, out of a two-storey window.
The young child suffered a fractured skull but has since made a good recovery.
Gilder was originally charged with and denied attempted murder but on the day of his trial in September he accepted the lesser charges.
He was due to be sentenced on October 30 but convinced Judge Reddihough to allow him more time to consider his guilty plea.
