Grant helps build new Chiltern cycle route
A NEW 170 mile cycle route will be built through the Chilterns after a £48,000 grant was given to the project.
The Chilterns Conservation Board (CCB) and Cyclists Touring Club have secured the cash from the Chilterns LEADER fund given to farmers, foresters or community groups.
It will be fully signed posted and take in quiet lanes before passing through Chesham.
Annette Venters, of the CCB, said: "The Cycleway will provide the sort of enjoyable leisure cycling in lovely surroundings that lots of people are looking for. And it will boost local businesses along the route like B & B's and pubs."
Nick Phillips, programme manager at LEADER, said: "It is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to work together to create a first class Chilterns visitor experience."
