County gears up for Remembrance

THE WAR dead will be honoured for their sacrifice for their country at remembrance ceremonies across south Bucks on Sunday (8/11).
Across the district, those who have died in the First and Second World Wars, and in more recent conflicts, will be remembred.

A parade in Amersham Old Town begins at 10.45am in the Memorial Gardens ahead of a church service at St Mary's Church, in Church Street.
The other parade organised by Amersham & District Royal British Legion takes place in Chesham Bois.
A coach is due to leave the branch in Woodside Road at 9.45am and will go to St Leonard's Church for a service at 10.30am.
A parade to the village's war memorial will follow the service at 11.45am.
Also:
A memorial service will be held at the War Memorial in Chesham High Street from 10.45am.
In Gerrards Cross the event is scheduled to take place from 10.40am at the Memorial Centre in East Common with a Remembrance Service being led by Martin Williams.
In Chalfont St Giles an adult service of remembrace takes place in the Parish Church, Deanway, from 10am. It will be followed by the two-minute-silence and laying of wreaths in the High Street at 11am.
In Chalfont St Peter the march starts on Gold Hill Common at 2.45pm and leads down o the war memorial at the parish church, High Street, with a memorial service starting at 3pm.
There will be a Remembrace Day service at 10.55am at the war memorial next to St Mary and All Saints Church, in Windsor End, Beaconsfield. This will be followed by a civic service.
