Nurse signs up for Santa Run

A SPECIALIST children's nurse has pledged to dress up as Father Christmas and run around Lowndes Park for charity.
Sonya O'Leary is manager of Pepper Children's Nurses and helps support youngsters battling cancer and their families.
The charity is teaming up with Iain Rennie Hospice at Home to host the second-ever Santa's on the Run event in Chesham on November 29.
Both hope to raise £20,000 with Mrs O'Leary, partner Gary Fitzgerald, and sons Jake, two, and Freddie, three, all vowing to take part.

She said: "We entered last year and Freddie had a great time, despite the dreadful weather.
Santa's on the Run is something we can do as a family. It is great fun for children and raises money for very worthwhile cause."
Sonya's team of six nurses currently care for 32 children across Hertfordshire and Bucks and are on call round the clock every day of the year.
Mrs O'Leary added: "It means a great deal to families to have their children at home with them when they are so ill, and it is a privilege to be able to support them."
Santa's on the Run will start at 10.30am by Chesham Town Crier, Eric Watsham, and runners can sign up for the 1km mini-run or the 5km run.
The entry fee of £10 for adults, £5 for children, or £20 for a family of four, includes a free Santa suit and all sponsorship materials.
For more information and to register for the event, call 01442 890222, visit www.irhh.org/santarun or pick up an entry form from any of the IRHH shops.
