Legion prepares for Cask Ale Festival

CHESHAM British Legion will begin their £600,000 fundraising campaign with their seventh annual Cask Ale Festival this month.
The charity have been set the mammoth total to raise in order to rebuild their building, in Broad Street, which burned down in May.
Resolute bosses at the legion have refused to give up on hosting their ever-popular event and will put it on at the White Hill Centre between October 9 to 11.

Dave Bainton, a member of the festival organiser committee, said: "The Cask Ale festival has been hugely popular and last year we had over 300 people attend. This year we are hoping for an even better attendance."
"We have launched a 'sponsor a beer' initiative where local firms can sponsor either a complete barrel of beer or half a barrel of beer at a cost of £80 and £40 respectively.
"The intention is to play a game of shives on Saturday afternoon. This involves throwing beer bottle tops into an empty beer barrel.
"Sunday will also start at noon and Sunday roasts will be available from 1pm. There will be entertainment on the Saturday night as it is the intention to replicate a typical Saturday night held in the Legion building prior to the fire."
The festival will kick off in traditional style on October 9 with a quiz and there will be 16 cask ales and four ciders on offer throughout the weekend.
