Celebrating re-generation of Shelley Gardens

Posted by Greg Burns on Sep 30, 09 10:26 AM in People

A CELEBRATION day was held at Shelley Gardens on Saturday after the conclusion of a regeneration project in the area.
Hundreds of people headed down to the gardens, in Chesham, to take part in a host of activities including scrapheap artwork, story telling, and the chance to sow flower seeds and build bird feeders.

For months, Pond Park Community Association, Paradigm Housing, and BTCV, have worked to improve the area including litter picking days, bulb planting, and graffiti removal.
Youngsters were also engaged with the community association by being invited to design their new logo. Winner of the competition Saboor Sajjad, of Newtown School, being presented with his prize certificate.
Jane Craven, community project officer from BTCV, said: "It was a fun-packed day and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
"It was good to see the local community coming together and taking part in this event."

We'd like to hear from you.
