Posted by Greg Burns on Aug 26, 09 04:39 PM in People

POLICE have warned residents of Chesham and Amersham about a group of pickpockets stealing purses in the towns.
The group, which police believe may include children, have a committed a number of offences in the past month striking between 11am and 2pm at supermarkets and small shops, including charities.

A police statement said: "Do not leave purses visible in shopping bags or pushchairs and buggy bags.
"Keep hold of your handbag at all times and always close them securely before moving on after paying and beware of any distractions."
Anyone who sees someone acting suspiciously should contact a shop assistant or call police on 0845 8 505 505.
