Trio trek from Land's End to John O'Groats

A GROUP of friends jumped on their bikes for a country wide fundraising trip from Land's End to John O'Groats.
The trio - Doug Ramsey, 50, and Nick Tarling, 47, both of Brushwood Road, Chesham, and Pete Estelle - set off from the Cornish landmark on Friday, June 12, to raise money for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.
The gruelling 10 day trip saw them cover 1,043 miles and passing through Somerset, Lancashire, and Northumberland before crossing into Scotland.

Mr Estelle was forced to stop at Bristol due to painful blisters but the other two cyclists carried on and met him in Scotland at the finish.
Mr Ramsey, regularly cycles 17 miles to his job in Harrow, north-west London, in preparation for the trip and chose the charity because Mr Tarling's wife suffers from the condition.
He said: "We knew we would always do this but we were not sure about which charity. But once Nick told us about the Society and the good work they do we chose it straight away.
"We have raised about £7,000 so far but considering how hard the trek was I am hoping to raise up to £10,000 so will be knocking on some doors to try and raise a bit more.
"The first three days of cycling were so tough because it was very humid and there were lots of hills in Devon and Cornwall. It was certainly a tough physical and mental challenge.
"I used to live in Scotland but it was the first time I ever really got to experience the Highlands and they were truly magnificent.
"The ultimate feeling when we got to the John O'Groats was pure relief, disbelief and joy."
