Chesham-Trouts.jpgFish usually appear on school children's dinner plates but a group of Chesham pupils are nurturing their own in their classroom.
Waterside School youngsters have taken on a 'Trout in the Classroom' project in a bid to learn more about their habitat and the town's chalk stream.
It will mean the children, who are watching carefully over the alevins - young trout- since they hatched on March 5, will attend to them daily. The will keep their tank clean, and check temperature levels. When the fish are larger they will feed them before watching them swim away after releasing them into the River Chess next month.

CSG-Chocolate.jpgA chocolatier has come-up with a mouth-watering treat for a lucky prize winner.
Sophie Webb, owner of Sophie's Chocolates and Cakes, has launched her annual Easter competition to raise funds for a Chesham cause.
This year the chocolatier has created a 'Bucks Bunny' in aid of Chesham Museum.

A programme where youngsters helped teach older people IT skills earned the project a short-listing for an award.
The Silver Surfer training programme, which began in January, involved students dropping in on residents of Cromwell House sheltered accommodation to refresh their skills.

Chesham-Dumped-Cardboard.jpgA man was prosecuted after dumping his cardboard boxes in a 'moment of madness'.
Paul Lloyd-Denyer, 19, of Treachers Close, Chesham, was ordered to pay a total of £1,315 after a court ruled waste was found illegally dumped at Green Lane, off Blackwell Hall Lane, Chesham, in August last year.
The court heard a hidden camera recorded a vehicle belonging to Lloyd-Denyer at the scene, which is often used for fly-tipping, on August 16.

Chesham-Leisure-Centre-red-.jpgNexus Chesham Leisure Centre Gym Team went Fitness Retro for Comic Relief on Friday March 13.
They performed mini aerobics classes in and around Chesham to collect money for the great cause, as a thank you they offered people a weeks trail at the Leisure Centre to try the brand new Technogym facilities. A member of the public and her daughter joined in the dancing and another said "you girls look fantastic, you have brighten up the town."

Two girls will be hoping other people's cast-offs will be able to raise money for a charity that helps feed children around the world.
Gabby Waterman, 10 and Sophie Lathom-Sharp, 11 will be holding a Bring and Buy sale to raise money for Mission Nutrition, the latest Blue Peter campaign.
Gabby, who lives in Waterside, came up with the idea and invited friend and neighbour Sophie to help organise it.

Models took an ethical stance on the catwalk as part of a Fairtrade extravaganza.
A fashion event showcasing Fairtrade clothing took place to promote the goods as part of Chesham's Fairtrade Fortnight.
The evening at the Elgiva began with the film 'China Blue' which showed the audience the conditions in a jeans factory in China.

Chesham-Crufts.jpgA dog lover is celebrating after her pooch sniffed success at Crufts.
Kim Harman's dog 'Loki', a Weimaraner, finished third in his breed class at the show last Saturday.
It was the first time Mrs Harman, 35, a professional dog walker and mother-of-two of Rose Lane, Chesham, had entered a dog in the show.
Thirteen-month-old 'Loki' whose full name is Lassemista Tango, was placed third in the 'special puppy class' and fourth in the 'special junior' class.

23172815 Eileen-Taylor.jpgA stalwart of Chesham's musical theatre Eileen Taylor has died.
Eileen Taylor joined Chesham Amateur Operatic Society in 1951 as a chorus member in The Gondoliers.
That was the first full show to be staged after the war and at the time of her death 58 years later, she was the sole surviving active member.
Eileen remained in the chorus until the mid-sixties when her pure soprano voice was then heard in many leading roles.

22592526 Chesham-Station.jpgAmersham and Chesham tube stations are being targeted by thieves stealing bikes.
Two men stole a bike from Amersham station around 2.50pm on Friday, March 13. A short while later, two men matching the same descriptions were seen taking a bike from Chesham station around 4.20pm.
