Chesham-Sainsburys-10th.jpgSainsbury's celebrated its tenth birthday with a special lottery for customers this weekend.
The Chesham superstore in St Mary's Way held a draw on the hour for lucky customers to pick a present to celebrate a decade in the town.
Party-hat-wearing staff, some who joined the company at the opening of the store ten years ago, handed out balloons to children to mark the day on Saturday.

Tracy Gunner, human resources manager, said: "We did a birthday checkout lottery to involve customers . We put all of the till numbers into a hat and got a customer to pick a number out and the lucky customer could pick a birthday present out of a trolley - it was a good way of giving something back to the customers. "
She added: "In terms of sales they have certainly grown over the past ten years. Staff who came in as students are now managers and have worked their way up. The company has become a lot more focused in the community. We've now got strong links with Brushwood School and do food donations to a horse sanctuary which we never used to do."
A decade ago the £15m development opened as part of a scheme which included the building of the new town hall and the Elgiva theatre as part of the revitalisation plan.
The 400th store, which attracted queuing customers an hour before its opening, was launched by jazz band Soundproof and shoppers were welcomed by Sainsbury's chief executive Dino Adriano. Its trading on the day was said to be 'beyond expectations.'
At the time residents expressed concerns about an increase in traffic, parking and whether the High Street shops would benefit from their new superstore neighbour.
