22782408 Eleanor Shaw.jpgA talented Chesham performer has made her way on to a stage in London's West End at the youthful age of nine.
Eleanor Shaw, a year five pupil at Waterside School, has been fitting in her school work with appearances in The Sound of Music.
Eleanor was picked to play the part at a theatre class and following seven weeks of rehearsals took on the part of Marta von Trapp - the second youngest child of Captain von Trapp in the musical.

Eleanor said: "The agent just rang up and sent me for auditions. There were three auditions. The first one was alright and the second I was a bit more nervous. The third one there were lots of people and we were in there for four hours.
"When I found out I was really happy and my mum was jumping."
The youngster, who took part in Les Miserables last year, takes to the stage three times a week for two weeks before getting a well-earned week off.
Eleanor, who fits in her homework by doing in on the train to the capital, added: "Before the show everyone in my team jumps around and is really excited.
"When we come out marching there's always screams from the audience and it makes my tummy go. My favourite bit is Doh Ray Me."
Since Eleanor began performing in the show in November her family have travelled from places as far as Yorkshire to support her from the audience.
Her proud mum Samantha Shaw said: "She was in Les Miserables last year and after this I thought oh my gosh maybe she has got something. It's wonderful to see her up on the stage."
