Poster competition

Chesham-Waterside-Poster.jpgChildren took a step back to Victorian times to design a poster for Chesham's annual event commemorating the era.
Two pupils at Waterside School, Humza Alam, eight, and Lucia Anderson, 11, were chosen in first and second place respectively in the competition.
The youngsters were asked to draw a poster advertising Victorian Evening, which takes place in Chesham town centre on Friday (28/11).

They were presented with certificates and book tokens on Friday by the event's organiser Diane Brackley from Chesham Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
Headteacher Gareth Drawmer said: "At Waterside we always believe it's important to take a strong part in the community. We are thrilled that our children have won the competition."
This Friday the town will step back in time to celebrate switching on the lights for what has now become the beginning of Christmas for Chesham.
There will be a winter parade of carollers from White Hill to Market Square.
The cast of the Elgiva's pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will take part in a procession before the Christmas lights switch-on by mayor Alison Pirouet.
The evening will be an opportunity for shoppers to stock up on festive treats as businesses open for late-night shopping.
The main aim of the evening is to raise money for charities and many well-known organisation will line the High Street.
Behind the scenes, members of Chesham Chamber of Trade and Commerce have been working hard to make sure the event is a success.
The Victorian Evening takes place from 6pm in Chesham Town Centre on Friday, November 28.
