French market open for business

There is still chance to get your hands on some chocolate croissants, funky jewellery and crepe because the market will be in Chesham High Street over the weekend.

Museum meeting to discuss move

The annual meeting of the Chesham Museum trustees is set to be an exciting one as they celebrate securing its new home.
The trustees agreed with the landlords of the premises in Chesham High Street to move in next year and the focus of the meeting will be to encourage more people to join the campaign.

Chesham-Diana-Copland.jpgAn artist who fought to save her eyesight is writing a booklet to help other people in the same position.
Diana Copeland, 67, of Old Sax Lane, Chartridge, was left fearing not only for her eyesight but for her ability to continue with her art after being diagnosed with glaucoma.

Toddling for charity

Chesham-Fancy-Dress-Toddler.jpgA sponsored toddle around Marston Field in Chesham helped to raise at least £100 for Green Meadow Playgroup funds with the cash being earmarked for play equipment.
Supervisor Gill Wilton said 16 children, aged between two and three, donned fancy dress for the walk - with two year old Laney Midwinter being given a prize for best costume.
"We had a fantastic time and we are very grateful for the support of the parents, " said Gill, who stressed that further fund raising efforts would take place during the school year.
The Green Meadow Playgroup is based at Little Spring School, Greenway, Chesham.

The Rose and Crown in Hawridge will be getting up to some ghoulish fun tomorrow night for Halloween.
The pub in Vale Road, which is now under new management, is hosting a special evening including dinner, music and lots of scary games.
The cost of the event is £20 per person. However if you mention the Buckinghamshire Examiner when booking you will receive £5 off per person.
We are also offering one lucky reader the chance to win a meal for two with house wine at tomorrow's event.

Chesham-Arfan.jpgOne teenager is showing other youngsters there is plenty to do in the area as long as they know where to find it.
Arfan Bhatti is finishing off the half term with an action packed day, show-casing all the groups in the area in an attempt to get other youths to stop saying there is nothing to do.
The 17-year-old Ashlyns student knows first hand what goes on in Chesham because he is a member of many groups, including the boxing club, Way In, the youth council and the youth cabinet.

AN AS level pupil at Dr Challoner's High School in Little Chalfont is focusing on a monumental fund raising battle in a bid to win a trip to far-off Costa Rica.
Zoe Hunt, 16, of Jasons Hill, Chesham, is determined to net her goal of £3,000 - which will qualify her for inclusion on the school's Operation Raleigh trip to Central America.

Children in Need takes place on Friday, November 14 and people across the country will be taking part in events from sponsored silences to jumping out of planes!
