Children at a school in Chesham came face to face with some fairy tale characters when this year's Christmas panto was launched.

The cast of this year's show, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, arrived in costume at Little Spring School to launch the new show last Wednesday, September 24.

The first showing is on December 4 at The Elgiva theatre, but director Stuart Morrison said preparations were well under way.

He said: "This is the fifth show I have produced and directed at the Elgiva and I'm delighted to be back.
"The rehearsals are going well, we have got all our dancers and dwarfs sorted and they are all fantastic. Everything will be ready for opening night.
"It's the traditional family pantomime with lots of shouting and screaming from the audience from the moment we start. Full of all the elements that Chesham expects to see, along with a few more."

John Newman, artistic director of Newpalm Productions who are staging the show said: "It's already up on last year's sales and it's broken box office records which is great.
"It's your full, proper traditional pantomime for the whole family, it is for everyone from the age range of three to 333.
"It's very much audience driven, there's lost of audience participation because the secret of a good pantomime is that the children are so involved that they tell the story."

The show will be running throughout December and into early January, with tickets available from the Elgiva box office on 01494 582 900 or online at www.elgiva.com.
