Chesham United are preparing well for for another promotion push this season according to manager Andy Leese.

Table tennis summer coaching sessions are to be held at Chesham High School.

Police have warned residents to secure downstairs windows and doors at night following a spate of night time burglaries in Chesham.

Water park re-opens

Meades Water ardens have re-opened after a £50,000 makeover.
The water garden in Red Lion Street, Chesham, was officailly opened by mayor Alison Pirouet.

Asheridge Vale and Lowndes Community Association is inviting residents to come up with a new look for a leisure area in Benham Close.

The association is launching a competition for residents of the close and nearby Dellfield to submit a design for the area of grass at the centre of the close, with prizes on offer for the winner.

Councillor Chris Spruytenburg, chairman of the association said: "We want people to come along to our AGM on Thursday at Wallington House at 7.30pm to discuss the idea and get involved with the project, working with Paradigm Housing which owns the area.

"We would like to hear what you think."

Councillors have lashed out at the government for being behind plans to close post offices in Botley and Waterside.

Cheryl Gillan MP visited the post office in Waterside, Chesham, which is earmarked for closure.

Prasann and Minaxi Patel showed Mrs Gillan, the MP for Chesham and Amersham, round their 100-year-old post office and shop, which they have run for 22 years, and introduced her to customers.

Mrs Gillan and Beaconsfield MP Dominic Grieve are urging their constituents to object to the closure proposals.

When it comes to discussing our bowels, we Brits are a pretty reticent bunch, which is why one Chesham woman's decision to go public about her 10-year battle with Crohn's disease is all the more remarkable.

Encouraging women to join the police is a no-brainer.

In the absence of the chairman, Pat Semon, because of illness, the July meeting was opened and chaired by the vice-chairman, Pauline Baxter, who announced that the usual proceedings would be reversed, to give the speaker a chance to start for home in daylight.
